We zijn erg druk (ons sociale leven is ver te zoeken, zo kunnen onze vrienden en familie alvast wennen) maar hier dan toch even een nieuwe Blog. Het gaat voorspoedig met The Green Miles. De statuten voor de stichting liggen bij de Notaris, het bestuur is gevormd (met dank aan ons bestuur: Matthijs, Wieke en Lucas!) en onze brochure is klaar!
 Momenteel zit Arjen met en voor het Rode Kruis in Guatamala, dit aangezien we jongeren ambassadeurs zijn geworden van het Rode Kruis! Arjen bezoekt een klimaatproject van het Rode Kruis, hier later meer over (de foto's in het album zijn voor een groot deel gemaakt door fotograaf Robert van Willigenburg). Florian is druk bezig om The Green Miles op de Hiswa onder de aandacht te brengen en ons project wordt meer dan goed ontvangen! Ik (Florian) kan jullie zeggen dat het wel begint te kriebelen daar op de Hiswa tussen alle bootjes! Verder heeft Florian gisteren zijn huis verkocht dus we kunnen gaan! Er zullen nog wel een aantal trainingen en cursussen volgen. Het Nova Contract onderwijs in IJmuiden gaat voor ons een op maat gemaakte training verzorgen van een aantal weken. (safety, navigatie, meteo, medisch, technisch etc). We zijn het Nova college hier uiteraard erg dankbaar voor! Ik ga afsluiten, komende week zullen we onze eerste nieuwsbrief versturen en daar zal wat meer informatie in staan over onze ontwikkelingen. Tenslotte kwamen wij onderstaand nieuwsbericht tegen en aangezien dit 1 van onze hoofdthema`s is vonden we het wel de moeite waar om het even te vermelden:
NIEUWS! DUMPEN VAN AFVAL GROOTSTE ERGERNIS
Ruim 59 procent van de Nederlandse watersporters ergert zich op het water aan het dumpen van afval door andere watersporters. Dit blijkt uit de eerste editie van Het Nationale Watersport Onderzoek van Eileen in samenwerking met Delta Lloyd en HISWA Vereniging.

We are extremely busy (our social lives are non-existent - at least this way our friends and family can start getting used to it!) but here's a new blog anyway! Things are going well with The Green Miles. The statutes of the foundation are with the notary, the board has been formed (thank you to our board: Matthijs, Wieke and Lucas!) and our brochure is finished!
Currently, Arjen is in Guatemala with the Red Cross, as we are now youth ambassadors to the Red Cross! Arjen is visiting a climate project of the Red Cross – but more about that later (the photos have been made by photographer Robert van Willigenburg). Florian is very busy trying to draw attention to The Green Miles at the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show, and our project is being extremely well received! I (Florian) can tell you, I’m starting to itch there at the boat show amongst all the boats! Also, Florian managed to sell his house yesterday, so we can go! A number of training courses will still have to be followed. Nova Contract training in IJmuiden will offer us a tailor-made training course of several weeks (safety, navigation, weather forecasting, medical, technical, etc). Naturally we are very grateful to the Nova college for this! We will be sending out our first newsletter sometime in the next week, and that will include more information about new developments.
